Amanda Chavarria (Owner/Director) - Amanda has owned and managed Joyland since June 2008. Prior to that she was a Childcare Supervisor at a local church as well as a Marketing Director. She has her Bachelor’s Degree from St. Bonaventure University in Mass Communication and an Early Childhood Certificate from Columbus State. She lives in Columbus and has four children of her own.
Miranda Bourassa (Director) – Miranda received her Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education from Muskingum University and hold’s an Ohio Teaching license. In addition, she has a Masters Degree in Education Administration from Capella University. She has eight years experience teaching preschool and was an assistant administrator prior to coming to Joyland in 2011. She lives in Dublin with her husband Seth and dog Sadie.
Erin Sue Lantz (Infants) - Erin Sue started at Joyland in February 2013 as a floater working in classrooms from Infants to Schoolage. She has experience as a full time nanny as well as in several accounting positions. Erin Sue has an Associates Degree from Belmont College.
Kelsey Madill (Infants)- Kelsey has several years experience working with children. Prior to joining Joyland in July of 2016, she worked for as a Kids Activities Supervisor at Lifetime Fitness for over 2 years supervising children ages 3 months to 11 years as well as supervising staff. She was a camp counselor for two summers supervising children ages 3 to 10. Finally she was a nanny for three preschool-aged children for 2 years. Kelsey attended the University of Tennessee Chattanooga.
Alissa Moore (Wobblers)- Alissa began at Joyland in November 2013 in the Wobbler classroom. She has taken classes in Early Childhood Education at Columbus State.She lives lives in South Columbus and has an infant daughter.
Caitlan Nichols (Wobbler) - Caitlan has worked at Joyland since 2013 in all classrooms before becoming a Wobbler teacher. She has an Associates of Arts degree from Columbus State. She is also a former student of Joyland Preschool!
Trudy Nichols (Toddlers) - Trudy is the lead teacher in the toddler room at Joyland. She attended the Licking County J.V.S. where she was certified in Early Childhood Education. She has been working at Joyland since 1998. She currently resides in Plain City, Ohio with her husband and two daughters.
Marissa Carroll (Toddlers) - Marissa has worked in childcare as a classroom floater as well as a nanny to three young children. She holds a certificate in Early Childhood Education from Tolles Technical Center. Marissa has been with Joyland since June 2011.
Sarah Starkey (Preschool) - Miss Sarah has a bachelors degree from Bowling Green State University in Early Childhood Education. While attending college she worked summers at a local childcare center. Sarah has been at Joyland since June 2013.
Emily Terry-Adams (Preschool) - Miss Emily has a bachelors of Arts degree from Ohio State. She also has 4 years prior experience teaching in a child care setting in both the toddler and preschool age groups, as well as nanny experience. Miss Emily started at Joyland in June 2013.
Jesse Henderson (PreKindergarten) - Jesse joined Joyland in September of 2010 starting as a substitute and then moving into the Toddler teacher position in early 2011. Comments from parents include “she’s wonderful and so good with kids.”
Oliva Price - Olivia is a graduate of Wright State University with her B.A. in Sociology. Prior to joining Joyland at the start of 2017, she worked at Horizon Elementary in Hilliard City Schools in behavior health.
JoLyn Grover (Kindergarten/School Age) - JoLyn has a B.A. in Early Childhood Education from Hiram College. In addition, she has three years experience teaching in childcare centers in preschool and PreK classrooms as well as clinical experience at the Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grade levels. She also enjoys volunteering her time as a vacation bible school group leader which she has done for the past 5 years.
Denise Nauta (Cook/Assistant Teacher) - Denise works in our kitchen making sure we have delicious food to eat every day as well as assisting teachers in the classroom as necessary. She has several years experience in childcare and has taken classes at Columbus State University. She has been at Joyland since July 2011.
