Joyland Preschool/Childcare is a licensed preschool, kindergarten and childcare center independently owned and operated providing care for children 6 weeks through 9 years of age. In addition, the center offers a before and after school program to kindergarten and elementary students and a summer camp. Our 7,100 square foot center is situated on 2.2 acres of land located off of Wilcox Road in Dublin, Ohio. Our hours of operation are Monday through Friday 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Mission/Philosophy Our mission is to provide quality, affordable childcare, but more importantly, to personally get to know each child, discover their special talents and guide them in their development of a positive self image.
History of Joyland Joyland Preschool was founded by Maj Firouzian in 1983. It started as one classroom in Burbank Elementary School in Upper Arlington, Ohio. By 1984 it had grown and was occupying four classrooms.
In 1987, the first Joyland building was built on Bradenton Avenue office park in Dublin, Ohio. The business was sold in 1990 and the second location was built in 1992. Both centers continued cooperating successfully. The Hilliard location was sold in 1992.
The current building was built on a wooden lot in 1997. In 2008 the company was sold to Amanda Chavarria, who is the current owner and works on site.
How We’re Different In addition to be independently owned, we are not part of a chain, which means we have no board of directors and only one owner who is on-site. If a problem arises then it can be attended to immediately. Also, our turn over is fairly low and we have four staff members that have been with us over 10 years and several who have been with us several years. The biggest difference is that we truly care about the children we serve. Both the owner and director as well as the teacher’s have chosen their career fields because they care about the children and it is their passion.
